Daily Writing Prompt-What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

For the last few years, the beginning of my day starts with writing in my gratitude journal and ready one of my many daily devotionals.

Gratitude Journaling

What is a Gratitude Journal?

A gratitude journal is, quite simply, a tool to keep track of the good things in life. No matter how difficult and defeating life can sometimes feel, there is always something to feel grateful for.

In my opinion gratitude journal is the antidote for anxiety. I find that when I regularly express my gratitude on paper, I am forced to see all the things I have and think way less about what I do not. My mind gets a but clearer and I can better get through my day.

Benefits of a Gratitude Journal

  • Gratitude journaling, like many gratitude practices, can lower your stress levels;
  • It can help you feel calmer, especially at night;
  • Journaling can give you a new perspective on what is important to you and what you truly appreciate in your life;
  • By noting what you are grateful for, you can gain clarity on what you want to have more of in your life, and what you can do without;
  • Gratitude journaling can help you find out and focus on what really matters to you;
  • Keeping a gratitude journal helps you learn more about yourself and become more self-aware;
  • Your gratitude journal is for your eyes only, so you can write anything you feel without worrying about judgment from others;
  • On days when you feel blue, you can read through your gratitude journal to readjust your attitude and remember all the good things in your life (Jessen, 2015).

One of my goals has been to create my own gratitude journal, I am proud to say I finally did it if you are ready to start your journaling era head to My Store and grab one.

Daily Devotional

Daily Devotionals are also a staple in my morning routine. I am and will always be in pursuit of God and Daily devotionals for me are a way to strengthen my connection with him.

Have you ever gone to church and felt like the pastor was speaking just to you like the scripture was made just for you? Thats what my daily devotionals feel like to me. I can wake up feeling heavy at times, once I read my devotionals I instantly fee lighter like God sent me a message right through that one page of the day.

The benefits of daily devotions, including strengthening your connection with God, promoting spiritual growth and maturity, enhancing emotional and mental well-being, improving decision-making and discernment, and fostering a sense of community and accountability, demonstrate the immense value of incorporating prayer into your daily routine.

In conclusion, if you struggle like with not enjoying the no sometimes because you are busy thinking about the past or worrying about the future. I recommend gratitude journaling it has helped me a lot! Especially incorporating it into my daily morning ritual.

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?
