When the Lack of Motivation Is Actually Redirection

There are moments when we beat ourselves up for not being motivated enough—when the energy, focus, or drive just isn’t there. We wonder if we’re lazy, distracted, or simply not disciplined enough. But here’s the truth: sometimes the issue isn’t motivation at all.

Sometimes, the reason we can’t seem to push forward is because we’re walking a path that was never meant to be ours. Motivation tends to follow purpose. When you’re aligned with what’s truly meant for you, the energy to keep going feels natural—it flows. When you’re not, everything feels forced, heavy, and draining.

Think about it: how many times have you tried to convince yourself that you should want something, only to realize deep down you didn’t really want it at all? That “lack of motivation” wasn’t failure—it was clarity. A quiet reminder from your spirit that your energy belongs elsewhere.

If you’ve read my blogs in the past, you know I’ve tried many things: makeup artistry, body sculpting, an online boutique—and I’m sure there are others I can’t even think of right now. But nothing ever pushed me to stick with them. The drive wasn’t there, and eventually I stopped.

My blog, on the other hand, has been a completely different story. Even with no views, little support from those closest to me, and more than enough reasons to quit, I keep going. Something about writing, sharing, and connecting in this space pulls me back every single time. That tells me this is where I’m meant to be.

Instead of shaming ourselves for not being motivated in one area, maybe we should look at what keeps pulling us back in another. Redirection doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’re being guided toward the place where your effort, your passion, and your growth will align.

Because the right path doesn’t drain you—it calls to you.

Until next time, keep growing, thriving, and embracing the journey. 🌱
