For the past year, I kept telling myself I was going to do it—go out, meet new people, say yes to something social. But every time, I found a reason not to.
Last weekend, that changed.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I’ve often talked about not having many friendships here in ATL. To be honest, it’s been the kind of hard and tough to explain. I don’t fit in everywhere with everyone, and I’ve been a little guarded because of that.
But I finally went out—with a group of women, for a girls’ night in the city—and I’m so glad I did.
There’s something necessary about being around feminine energy. Something soft but grounding. Women laughing, vibing, feeling safe enough to just be. It reminded me how healing and energizing connection can be—especially with other women who understand the weight we often carry.
I almost backed out (again), but something in me said, “Go anyway.” And I’m proud I did. I didn’t need to be anyone but myself. No expectations, just good energy and new faces.
Sometimes, growth looks like pushing past the excuses and showing up.
If you’ve been wanting connection but holding back—I see you. I’ve been you. This is your sign to take the first step. Say yes, even if it’s just once. You deserve moments that remind you you’re not alone.
Have you been seeking more connection lately? Share your story in the comments or let me know how you’re stepping out of your comfort zone—I’d love to hear it.
Until Next Time, Keep Growing and thriving on the Journey.
