“Aging is the aggressive pursuit of comfort ” quote by Gary Brecka human biologist, biohacker, and researcher among other things.
I first heard this quote during a Sunday Sermon from Bishop Dale Bronner. Since hearing these words, I have constantly thought about what it means and what it means as it pertains to me. I am one of those people always looking for a message from God in just about everything.
I initially thought that this meant that being too comfortable is the fastest way to getting old.
Let’s be honest as we age all we want is to be comfortable in our homes in our relationships shoot in our own skin.

The more I think about this quote the more I think that maybe the message is not just comfort but maybe it’s about out comfort zones. (insert one of the many quotes about stepping out of you comfort zone) I am sure that so many apply.
What happens when we become too comfortable.
For example- you’re comfortable at a job, not career or passion, you become complacent, there is no excitement just your day-to-day routine, you are always tired, and you’re not happy to go to work and count down until the time to leave. The days begin to run into each other and the next thing you know you have been doing the same thing for 40-plus years you are now old and tired.
What if we decided to push ourselves out of our comfort zones?
This made me think of my dad. My dad did not graduate high school he actually dropped out of high school at the age of 15. At the age of 32 he decided to go back to school to get his GED and also got his college degree. While also being a tax and real estate professional among so many other things he.
For as long as I can remember he always said to us kids he wanted to be a lawyer well he became a lawyer in his 50’s while also running his own construction company.
He is the prime example of a person pushing pass every comfort zone he has created for himself.
Today at the age of 64 we cannot get him to sit down he works everyday he says he will never stop working that he feels like if he stops, he will begin to feel old and die.
What this quote means to me now.

I believe that God is trying to tell me I have become too complacent, for the past few years I have searched and craved comfort and now that I have it, I have possibly become too comfortable it is time to step out and not let being comfortable stop me.
I think it begins with getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
EXPAND*
This is the word that comes to mind as I write this blog.
The best moments in our lives, are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times—although such experiences can also be enjoyable, if we have worked hard to attain them. The best moments usually occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.
God has been preparing me for something. I have been feeling it for a while now I don’t know exactly what it is today but with prayer and openness, I am sure I will know soon. I believe that the more I pursue God, he will point me in the right direction.
Luke 11:9 -10
9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
