Finding Love Later in Life

Hey Luves

I’m back with another blog about my journey to 40 maybe this should be a small series what do you think?

In a conversation with my boyfriend last night I said to him:

“I am excited about turning 40 and it is so surprising. I thought I would feel different but I am looking forward to it.” His response “its because of me lol”

I just laughed and rolled my eyes.

Honestly he is kind of right but not in the way some may think. Now I have been trying to not make my blog a my man & my relationship blog but the truth is my relationship has defiantly increased my happiness.

  • Having a person to tell how your day was if it was good or bad. He is the person I call on most days while I drive home to him to decompress about my day.
  • Having a person I can be my full self with
  • Having that person in my life that pays attention he literally can see and feel when something is wrong with me before I can say anything.
  • My Cheerleader
  • Having someone that calls me out on my BS with Love
  • A Partner

This was the right time to find Love for me. Younger me would not have appreciated it.

I am calmer now.

I am softer now.

I am a better listener now.

I am less defensive now.

I am less of a people pleaser now .

I am less angry now.

I am more forgiving now .

Still working on not being so hard on myself but I do a little better now.

One of my best friends said to me recently “Girl you manifested the Love that you have now. You were not willing to receive anything less than something real”.

To me knowing what you as an individual needs comes from experience yours and the people around you it took 38 years to understand and find what was good for me, not what looked good on the outside , but what feels good everyday.

I can honestly say I feel good when I go home almost everyday! and I am thankful to God for the new season in my life it not perfect but its mine and I love it here.

Until next time

xoxo Kieks
