Nazli Michelle Nicole Smith is a Hairstylist, Fashion Designer and Nonprofit owner based in Los Angeles California. The Belizean born Beauty and multi business owner has taken her passion for hair, fashion and love for people to create her own personal brand and living life on her own terms.
Since I was a little girl, I remember changing clothes every min. Sometimes 2-3 times a day, my mother use to yell at me all the time for taking her tube tops and wearing them as skirts and me walking around in her high heels. Lol. My grandmother was my rock. She encouraged me to sew, to cook, to always be a lady, to be kind to people no matter what and always spread Gods Love like he does.
She always encouraged me to do hair. It was natural to me. I can see something and I’m able to do it with no problem as long as I understand, and I am interested in doing it.
I started doing hair young my cousins were my first clients lol. At the age of 23 I started doing hair at my house or I would go to friends and family and do hair. It was something I just did. Didn’t really see it as my profession at first.
In 2018 age 39 at the time, I decided to go to cosmetology school “I know how to do this. I’m going to get my license and start my business”. “I now have my own business, right? The best thing ever.” One business down more to go. I told myself I would use one business to find another.
David Smith 1956 est. Sept. 2020

I’ve always designed my own clothing, cut something here add something there, glitter, stones you name it I’ve tried it lol. In September of 2020 decided to honor my dad and created a brand. David Smith 1956. Another business created using skills I’ve already possessed.
The David Smith brand is unisex clothing brand. The goal was to find create a niche brand unisex items was a perfect start, I started with the classic colors of black and white, it’s just very clean and chill and are go to colors for everyone and any season.
“Spicing things up now throwing in some color and some in there really soon.”

“I aim to be with the top designers, walking the runway in New York fashion. Daddy was a proud Belizean New Yorker. Wow!“
My most recent business is my nonprofit Give II Live. I love, love, love helping people. I work with some family and friends to donate money, groceries clothing, help pay bills etc. for families of my birthplace Belize City, Belize.
The Journey:
The journey has been great honestly. I cannot complain at all. I have so much support from my circle of girl friends and my family it is what drives me honestly. Knowing that I have succeeded with everything is the best feeling in the world. It keeps me driven and hungry for more. Knowing it is only up from here and there is more to achieve. It keeps my heart happy.
What’s next:
I am now 43 years old so by the time I am 50 I would like to be able to say that all my dreams have come to fruition. So that means kids, marriage, homes in different places, and about 3 more businesses added to what I currently have. May not seem like a lot of time but to me it just means I don’t have no time to waste. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for more than half of my life. I am ready to expand to another city. I have my eyes on Las Vegas.
I would love to one day have cosmetics line some branding, maybe liquor, investments the sky is the limit for my Brand(s) I’m praying and pushing myself every day. Knowing that if I don’t get there, I only have myself to blame nothing can stop me but me. I am saying this to myself as I’m saying this to you. You can do anything you put your mind to.
Only you can stop you!!! Love NazliMichelle🌹

I’ve always believed in going with the flow and not always needing to have a plan, but setting goals challenges you. I’m the type of person that need to challenge myself. I rather go up against myself and see others as motivation.

Elle is proof that success happens at any age. when you tap into your god given gifts it can and will take you far! Thank you for sharing your story Love wishing you all the happiness and success you desire. xo Kieks
